Adding your music
- From the Files app. Open Files, go to On My iPhone → Instant Playlist, and copy some audio files in. Then in the app, tap + Add and choose that folder.
- From a synced folder. If you keep your music in a folder that's synced from your computer, tap + Add and choose that folder. Tags you add are written back to the files, so they sync too.
- Supported formats: MP3, FLAC, M4A, AAC, WAV, OGG and Opus.
Common questions
- Where are my tags saved? Inside each song file, in its "genre" field, with tags separated by semicolons. They stay with the file if you move it, and other music apps will show them as the song's genre.
- Why do my songs already have tags? Any genre a song already had shows up as a tag. You can keep it or remove it like any other tag.
- How do the faders work? Put a tag on a fader and set it to Only (only songs with that tag), Any (songs with at least one of the tags set to Any) or No (leave those songs out). All faders apply together. Tap Reset to clear them.
- My songs disappeared. If the folder was moved, renamed or is no longer available, add it again with + Add. Your tags are safe, since they're stored in the files themselves.
