Instant Playlist
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 October 2026
Instant Playlist ("the app") is a music player for audio files you already have on your device. This policy explains what the app does with your data.
Data we collect
None. The app does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data or usage data. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking, and it does not connect to any server.
Data on your device
- Your music files. The app reads the audio files in the folders you choose so it can play them and show their titles and artists. When you tag a song, the tag is written into that song file's own metadata (its "genre" field). Your files never leave your device.
- Chosen folders. The app remembers which folders you picked so your library is still there the next time you open it. This is stored only on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.
Permissions
- Music and audio (Android) / chosen folders (iOS): to find and play your songs and to save tags into them.
- Notifications and background playback: to keep playing music and show playback controls when the app isn't on screen.
Children
The app does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
